It’s really expensive, depending on whether or not you go for new or used equipment. I was going to set up an operation with my husband a few years ago but we felt it wasn’t worth it.
We decided to act as print brokers instead, and this printing facility we use also does printing for the nightclub I work at. They specialize in full color uv coated printing, and other types of finishing options.
You can try to contact them. Hope this helps:

Good luck
The equipment is very expensive depending on the size. A 6 color 40″ press with coater can be 2 million if bought new. The letterpress equipment is cheaper and can be a good money source but if you go that route hire a top notch operator and have their input in the brand/type. We use Kluge’s for our small format stamping, scoring and embossing with cylinder presses and a Brausse for the large format.
You would need a large start up amount to get the equipment and have it installed properly. Keep in mind that the printing industry is slowing down. I have seen many family owned printers go out of business in the past few years. Good luck!
